London: Haverstock, Ca. 1930. This an Uncle Oojah children’s alphabet book illustrated in colour, with black and white images at the bottom of each page for colouring or painting, with rhymes by Flo Lancaster, pictures by H. M. Talintyre.
The front cover provides an illustration of a seated Jerrywangle (Uncle Oojah’s nephew) selling artwork displayed on the sidewalk. Snooker and Binky Bear observe from the top of a wall. There are “Hints on Drawing & Painting” on the title page.There is also a plug for artist materials supplier, Winsor and Newton, whose ‘water and poster colours are best for this kind of work’. The last page is entitled “Uncle Oojah’s Letter” and children are encouraged to write to the publisher about the characters they prefer.
OCLC: 314954084 records only the copy at the National Library of Scotland which records the publishing date as 1946 though Talintyre started drawing Oojah in 1929. No other record of this title was found.
